Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT)

Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT) is a mental health service delivered by a licensed mental health center in partnership with a public school. These services are specifically for students who are struggling with serious social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges. The team consists of one master’s level therapist and one bachelor’s level behavior specialist who work with an average caseload of 10-20 students.

Gallatin Mental Health Center has partnered with the Belgrade School District, Three Forks School District, and Bozeman School District in order to provide intensive therapeutic services in the following schools: Heck/Quaw Elementary, Saddle Peak Elementary, Belgrade Middle School, Three Forks Schools, and Hyalite Elementary. The therapist and behavior specialist work with each client and family to develop a therapeutic plan to meet their identified needs, through setting treatment goals and monitoring progress. The CSCT staff work in partnership with the family, the child, and others (including school staff and additional health providers) to support each child to recover from the impacts of mental health challenges and be successful in school, at home and in the community.

The CSCT therapist is able to address social and emotional issues with each child on a frequent basis through individual, family, and/or group therapy activities. The therapist also assists students to utilize new skills in various settings, through behavior support, in order to engage more effectively

The behavior specialist works with each child to develop and use new skills that help them to be more successful. behavior specialists are not tutors or academic teachers; instead their role is to provide emotional and behavior guidance, redirection, and support, both in class, and unstructured times.

Payment for services comes from insurance, including Medicaid, Healthy Montana Kids, and/or private policies. CSCT staff will work with families to access resources to identify eligibility. Please do not let money discourage you from asking about our services because we will work with you address financial needs!

Participation from family/guardians is key to each child’s success. Since you know your child better than anyone, you are an integral member of the team.
